Soccer transfer crowdsourcing platform Nordensa reaches 5,000 users ahead of launch

First-of-its-kind platform will enable fans to invest in emerging soccer players from outside of Europe.

Nordensa, a new fan-funding platform that allows users to place long-term wagers on emerging soccer talents, has garnered 5,000 users ahead of its launch.

Confirmed:

  • App is set to go live in early 2023

  • Platform uses scouting software from a third party data provider to evaluate prospects

  • 60 different metrics will be used to monitor talent

  • Newly launched company aiming to focus on players from developing countries in key areas of South America and Africa

  • Nordensa will also work with scouts from elite European leagues including the Premier League and Bundesliga

Context:

Nordensa’s software identifies promising players that have been overlooked by traditional scouting networks and matches this talent with a European soccer team in need. The platform’s users ‘invest’ in these potential recruits by purchasing shares starting at €30 (US$32.27), which fund a one-year development contract.

If the player is ultimately signed by the club beyond this one year period, investors are recompensed and receive three per cent of the player’s salary over the next five years of their contract.

Comment:

“At Nordensa, we’re beyond excited to bring fans the opportunity to make a tangible impact in the future of both their clubs and the world’s most promising new talent, with a unique model that’s unparalleled in football – allowing fans to have a say in which young players they want to support and give a shot to achieve their wildest dreams.” said Gui Fernandes, chief operating officer at Nordensa.

“The top-level scouting professionals and the wider team joining us in this venture are also credited for the powerful message we’re sending out to the world of football – and we strongly believe that this is where the future democratisation of the planet’s number one sport is heading.”

Coming next:

Nordensa’s ambition is to forge pathways for soccer stars who have been overlooked or come from disadvantaged backgrounds whilst also benefiting from a global transfer market worth US$6.5 billion in 2022.

The next step is for a full launch of the platform later in 2023, presumably ready for the summer transfer window.
